After X Amount Of Days I Got Back On The Bike!

I wrote an article yesterday about sorting out priorities, you can click here to read it if you haven’t already but please come back and finish off this man on bikearticle. You can kind of say the two are linked because when I got out of bed this morning (around 5:30 AM), I had just finished reading the Bible, which I aim to do every day before I start my day. I headed over to my laptop and was thinking about the blog post I was going to write today (This is another thing I am trying to sort out because for the second year running, I am failing to complete a post a day – How hard can it really be?).

Anyway I started thinking about new priorities (which are really old) that I wanted to reinstate. Now I started thinking about my first online callings. One was my blog and I am taking more time with it and giving it more of my attention, regardless of whatever other things I am trying to do. The point is, I definitely have the time, It just comes down to my priorities. As I sat down, another one immediately can into my mind…”Get back on the bike.” Like that it was back and it is something I am looking to start doing seriously again. As I write these very words, another thing shot to the front of my memory which is language practice. I did think of typing tomorrow I will start again but there is no time like the present, I will get back into the swing of things today and perhaps write a blog post about it in the future. This blog post today isn’t about business but I find it hard to walk over this point without using the words “passive income.” What I am actually doing here is taking actions and by me doing these things, more things are coming back to me without little or no work. All I am doing currently is writing today’s blog post but I already have two potential articles now for tomorrow and the day after (getting back on the bike again day#1 & back to Greek day #1). Guess what? This seems like a good stream of investment because I have now thought (while typing) of a daily review/oversight of my day of biking and my day of Greek. That is how easy action multiplies! If I did this every day, I would have a full year’s worth of content for my blog and would complete my task of posting every day.

Like I said, this post isn’t about business but you can see how the principle of business are transferable. Staying with this theme just slightly, I was lying in bed around 3/4 AM thinking about how great & timeless Jesus was. I’m a firm believer in the fact all plans including business, life, wealth etc are found in the Bible. I was thinking about Business and how important marketing/exposure is, it really is the most important (Yes more important than the good product). I started thinking about how Jesus had such a big impact. Firstly, you should know I do believe Jesus had the best product on the market but this isn’t enough. If people don’t even accept free products today, this alone shows you product is not enough. Jesus didn’t say – “I have the best product on the market, everyone will come to me.” He actually did the opposite! He travelled around Israel teaching freely about his product and showing people real life examples of the product. Tried and Tested. Just to relate it to business I used the word product. I know some people may find offence in that but even if it was a product, it’s free anyway. Moving on, he not only travelled himself, he sent people out before him and with him. Ladies and gentlemen – please tell me what one of the biggest marketing strategies out there today is? Affiliate marketing! I’m merely using this to prove my previous point that these strategies are nested in the Bible one way or another.

It’s funny how my article post about getting back on the bike has turned into various other things but there you have it. Nearly 1000 words in less than thirty minutes all original. Since I completely sabotaged this article (unintentionally in many ways), I can do nothing else but tell you to look out for my upcoming article about getting back on the bike day #1 (now written) which will talk more about my bike experience and the struggles that came along.

Riding my bike is not in the top two things on my list so I was not riding before writing.

Feel free to leave comments and let me know what you think and you can always share this post for free if you feel it was inspiring or helpful.

Thanks.

From rags to riches

God is a man of his word, he proves it time and time again. Lets look at God’s statement hundreds of years prior to the encounter. “And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.” This is taken from Genesis 15, as you can see, Abraham has not had his name changed at this point. God is instructing Abram of what is to come in the future of his line and nation.

This forewarning was made known to us in the book of Exodus, as the new king which knew not Joseph as the Bible depicts wanted to oppress the children of Israel. The nation of Israel were subject to torture and slavery for hundreds of years. The man of God Moses rose up to prominence and eventually walked in to God’s will and led the transfer from poverty to wealth.  From poverty and oppression. When the Egyptians finally gave up and admitted defeat to God, the children of Israel were handed many pieces of substance. Clothes, ornaments and etc. God made a promise that this would be the case and this was just one of many examples where God takes a small thing and makes it much better than anyone onlooking could expect.

God of the future, for the present man

The best thing potentially about God is perhaps his omnipresent nature. This means he valuable to those who know him intimately. For someone needing foresight, he can prove very useful. For example, Genesis 31 begins with Jacob discussing how God had favoured him and given him much of the substance of Laban. He proceeds to tell the story of  how God by a dream instructed him of his blessings. This was something he knew before he even spoke to Laban about deciding his wages. God is past, present and future for us. He is whatever we need him to be. God instructed Jacob to pick the right cattle and he also told Jacob to go back to his homeland at the right time also. The present man Jacob was blessed with future awareness and this excelled him in his circumstance. I can testify of many times the god of the future has testified to me of things oncoming and how this gave me the opportunity to position myself in great stead.

We see these occurrences timely in the scripture and time and time again. The believer should also be able to testify of these things because God is just portraying his nature when he does so.

Moving on to another piece of text, lets use Joseph who was in prison as a case study. A few chapters on in Genesis 41, we see how from being in prison one day, the next he was the governor of the Egyptians. God had showed the people a dream and he was the only man found able to unlock the code from God. Everywhere but Egypt was famished and this made Egypt the place to be. People would come, increasing the demand for bread, meaning the price went up. Joseph, through God’s leading, positioned himself and the nation under his government in the best possible position. The God of the future helped the present man and took him from poverty and imprisonment, to wealth, respect and riches.

Jacob and his son Joseph both had intimate relationships with God and it was made known through there actions and their harvest.

Set your house in order

The children of Israel were journeying still from Padanaram and God had instructed Jacob to come and meet him in Bethel. Before doing so, Jacob declared all should cast away their idols and remove the strange images. They all gave them to him and he placed them under a tree and carried on journeying. Jacob was a head in his home and took the necessary actions needed to protect his family.

Household leaders need to make the right key decisions which will keep their families safe. Some people leverage their family’s safety, in order to strive for something they shouldn’t be reaching for. God continued to bless him as he was faithful (reminding him of the same   covenant he had given to his two predecessors).

Don’t just allow people to deter you or your family, keep them safe…

The Egyptian mindset…

The children of Israel were a much stronger people than the Egyptians. Scripture tells us and shows us this in many different ways. What I have seen in my twenty-one years on Earth and what I have now concluded with, is many people are weak. Many people choose to stop, many people choose to allow someone else to defeat them. The children of Israel were growing exceedingly and the king was worried about this. If Israel decided at any time they would go to war, they could have easily done so. The king of the time thought this in his heart and started making plans to suppress them. If the children of Israel wanted to do this I believe they would have but they did not. Even after leaving from years of oppression, they did not lay one finger of harm on them.

The Egyptians were scared of Israel and they had done nothing of any real nature except multiply. They were growing because God was blessing them for obeying his commandments. We then see the Egyptian midwives commanded to kill the men-child. This was something the women declined for two reasons…One, they feared God, Secondly they proclaimed “the Hebrew are not like our women.” What they were in fact saying is these women are stronger than we and do not need the help Egyptian women needed. How many of us today are dependant on others? It is an Egyptian mind-set in that regard. These women clearly limited themselves, instead of commanding that they can be just as good as Hebrew women when carrying, they accepted inferiority and lived according.

I watched a programme I had recorded a few months ago and was reminded of a man who had a business idea and ran with it. He did not stay fearful and allow someone else to be the man he was today, he excelled and followed out his plan. I cast my mind back to the words God spoke to a prophet… “Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” The one who would read would run! Not go and sit down, not go and tell another but run when read. Sitting on your hands in life is deadly, waiting for something to appear when we are the people who can act out.
Two men stood by in white apparel as the Lord ascended and what did they say to the onlookers? “Why stand ye here gazing into Heaven?” These men had other things to do, they could have been standing in awe for the whole day, week or month but they had other things to do. God had put other things on their hearts. Immediately after leaving and going back to hold onto the promise of the Holy Ghost, he came upon them when they were in one accord.
We do not need to wait for someone to come and tell us, we need to act when we know the time is right. No-one will do it for you so don’t expect it.
